Please join us at the Millspace to celebrate the first ever Newmarket Cemetery Restoration Day! Everyone from the public is invited to join us for a fun night of food and history. The Newmarket Historical Society will give an exciting presentation on Pickering Cemetery and the family’s lives during the American Revolution.
Eat, mingle, and spend next week impressing your peers with your local history knowledge! Attendance is free, though donations to the Newmarket Historical Society are appreciated!
You can also donate in the form of a lovely Cemetery Day shirt or sweater by searching for “Newmarket Cemetery Restoration Day 2025” on www.bonfire.com.
And if you want an even more tangible connection with Newmarket history, please consider volunteering with us to clean up Pickering Cemetery and Burley Cemetery, which are both overgrown and in need of some serious TLC. Volunteers will help by mowing cemetery lawns, pruning branches, pulling up invasive plants, and raking and bagging brush. Cleanup starts at 9 AM, May 17, at Pickering Cemetery, located near 157 Ash Swamp Road, Newmarket. Once work at Pickering is done, we will then work on Burley Cemetery, near 10 Bald Hill Road, Newmarket.
